1. Die Versiegelung kann in ihrer Wirkung beeinträchtigt sein, wenn während der Applikation oder Trocknungsphase (etwa 24 Stunden) Feuchtigkeit (z.B. Regen oder aufsteigende Feuchtigkeit aus dem Boden) auftritt. 2. Eine nicht vollständig rückstandsfreie Vorreinigung kann ebenfalls zu Problemen führen. Es ist essenziell, dass Steinreiniger oder andere Vorreiniger vollständig entfernt werden. 3. Eventuelle Vorbeschichtungen können das optimale Einziehen und Abbinden der Versiegelung verhindern, was zu einer reduzierten oder nicht langanhaltenden Wirkung führen kann.

Kann ich die Steine mit einem Hochdruckreiniger (Kärchern) reinigen?

Empfehlung: 1. Wir raten generell von der Nutzung eines Hochdruckreinigers für die Reinigung von Stein- und Betonplatten ab. Durch die starke Abrasion werden die Oberflächen beschädigt und anfälliger für erneute Verschmutzung und Algenbewuchs. 2. Die fräsende Wirkung des Hochdruckreinigers kann die oberste Schicht einer Versiegelung abtragen, selbst wenn die Hydrophobie in den tieferen Schichten erhalten bleibt.

Warum hält meine Versiegelung nicht so lange wie erwartet?

Die Haltbarkeit der Versiegelung kann durch verschiedene Faktoren beeinflusst werden. Mögliche Probleme während der Aufbringung, wie Feuchtigkeitseinwirkung während der Trocknungsphase oder eine unzureichende Vorreinigung, können die optimale Wirkung beeinträchtigen. Zudem kann eine starke Beanspruchung der Oberfläche die Lebensdauer der Versiegelung verkürzen. Es ist jedoch möglich, dass die Tiefenwirkung in den darunter liegenden Schichten weiterhin vorhanden ist.

Application

V24 roof tile sealing is delivered ready-to-use and applied undiluted to the pre-cleaned and dried surface.

The sealant must not come into contact with water and under no circumstances should it be applied when it is raining or on damp surfaces.

The application should be carried out by spraying or rolling. The optimal method depends on the size, position, structure and absorbency of the area to be treated

After application, the V24 roof tiles remain in contact with the surface as a film of liquid for several seconds.

The coating is completely crosslinked and cured after 24 hours.

FAQ

Why does sealing not have the optimum effect / Why is there no effect? / Why is there no long-term effect?

1. The effectiveness of the sealer may be impaired if moisture (e.g. rain or rising damp from the floor) occurs during the application or drying phase (approx. 24 hours).
2. Pre-cleaning that is not completely residue-free can also lead to problems. It is essential that stone cleaners or other pre-cleaners are completely removed.
3. Any pre-coatings can prevent the sealant from being optimally absorbed and set, which can lead to a reduced or non-long-lasting effect.

Can I clean the stones with a high-pressure cleaner?

Recommendation:
1. We generally advise against using a pressure washer for cleaning stone and concrete slabs. The heavy abrasion damages the surfaces and makes them more susceptible to re-soiling and algae growth.
2. The abrasive action of the pressure washer can remove the top layer of a sealant, even if the hydrophobicity in the deeper layers remains intact.

Why doesn’t my sealant last as long as expected?

The durability of the sealant can be influenced by various factors. Possible problems during application, such as exposure to moisture during the drying phase or inadequate pre-cleaning, can impair the optimum effect. In addition, heavy use of the surface can shorten the service life of the sealant. However, it is possible that the depth effect is still present in the underlying layers.

Why does the desired beading effect not occur?

The lack of beading effect could be due to problems with the application of the sealant. Moisture during application or incompletely removed pre-cleaning can impair the effect and prevent the sealant from being optimally absorbed and setting.
